JAMMU, July 12: SEEM Society – a non-profit organization run by a group of youth today donated clothes to the needy at Maratha Basti in Jammu.
SEEM Society is operated by several young minds of Jammu namely Gurmehar Sethi, Radhika Wahi, Arnav Gupta and Raghav Luthra. Adhering to the motto “they need what you don’t” and catering to the “needs of the needy”, this young NGO brigade targets the needy and has directly benefited over 400 people from Maratha Basti, a slum in Jammu.
The NGO has adopted a lifecycle approach of development and focuses entirely on distribution of the “excess” to the people who may not be as privileged. They organized collection and distribution of clothes in the scorching heat without second thought about their own comfort, for an honorable cause. For comforting the children from heat, ice cream was also distributed to them.
“Today society is surrounded by poverty some are fighting a daily battle for their survival. Together, we can bring hope in their lives. Together, we can bring change and make it last,” said Arnav Gupta, one of the Group member. “We feel that our budding NGO society will explore more avenues towards the welfare of the needy in future as well,” he added.
