JAMMU, July 13: Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC) thrashed Border Cricket Club, Satrayan in the summit clash and lifted the title trophy of the Day and Night Cricket Tournament (Summer Cup), organized by Satrayan Youth Club.
Shubam Sharma was declared as Man of the Series, while Anil Chib clinched Man of the Match title.
On the valedictory function, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLC was the chief guest, who awarded winner and runner-up teams in presence of RS Chib, former Minister, who was guest of honour. Harjit Singh, SDPO RS Pura, Inspector BS Manhas, SHO RS Pura, Major S Singh of Madras Regiment, Sarpanchs, Panchs and a large number of youth were also present on the occasion.
Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing the gathering impressed upon the youth to participate in sports activities along with their studies in order to achieve overall success in their future lives. He said that winning or losing is not important but the most important aspect in the life of a sportsman is to come forward and be a part of a competition.
RS Chib, former Minister while laying stress on sports, for the young people, elaborated on the need to have more and more activities of sports in the rural areas. He urged the Government to pay extra attention towards the development of sports in rural areas.
