Workshop on ‘Capacity Building’ of teachers concludes at Model Academy

JAMMU, July 16: A three-day workshop on “Capacity Building” of teachers concluded at Model Academy.
Prof BL Handoo and Dr Subash Arora from Indira Educational Consultancy Services, New Delhi were the resource persons for the workshop. Over 60 teachers of both the branches of the school took part in the workshop.
Pramod Srivastava, Principal, Model Academy, in his welcome address, highlighted the achievements of Prof Handoo and Dr. Arora. He said that they have vast experience in the field of education, mentoring, teacher training and management of educational institutions and have been providing training to teachers all over the country.
Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director, MIER, Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal, JK Dhiman, administartive officer and Manjari Sehgal and Harika Singh, Academic Managers, also attended the workshop.
Dr Arun Gupta in his message said that such workshops help in empowering the teachers to address the needs of the learners and enhance their individuality, curiosity and creativity.
Prof Handoo gave effective teaching tips and also highlighted the qualities which a good teacher should have. The focus areas of the orientation were improving performance in academics, Personality Development, Time Management, Classroom Management, Unlocking the locks of learning, AMP Box and Flipped classrooms.
The teachers were involved in a number of group activities. Sessions on two important principles of positivity and gratitude were also conducted.
Prof Handoo and Dr Arora in their interaction with the staff said that negativity should be shunned off with a positive attitude and teacher should go to class and nurture the children and help develop their personalities in a positive manner.
