JAMMU, July 16: Various Sikh bodies  including Shiromani Akali  Dal  (Amritsar), Sikh  Intellectual Circle, International Sikh Federation  and Sikh Students Federation  have strongly condemned the killings of unarmed youth in Kashmir with the use of brutal force.
Senior leaders of these bodies including Jaspal Singh Mangal, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Bhai Gurdev Singh, Ranjit Singh and Manmohan Singh addressing a joint press conference here today, expressed grief over the  loss of 38 innocent lives  in Kashmir and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and the people of Kashmir in this hour of crisis. They appealed to the Sikh community in J&K and world wide to render all sort of help to the people of Kashmir in this hour of crisis.
The Sikh leaders said that the standard operation procedures are being openly flouted  by the security forces  while dealing with the protesters in Kashmir and the destruction caused by the pellet guns has further aggravated the human rights situation  in Kashmir. They appealed the human rights bodies  and the world community to take serious notice of  the State sponsored brutality against the common masses.
They further alleged that BJP led Government instead of initiating a meaningful dialogue process for the resolution of J&K dispute, has made Kashmir as a laboratory to pursue their agenda of hatred and communalism.  They also criticized a section of press for not protecting the real picture of the happenings  in Kashmir.  The right of self determination under UN- resolution,  promised by both India and Pakistan is the most viable solution for the J&K dispute, they opined.
