JAMMU, July 16: State VHP president, Leela Karan Sharma, today asked the State as well as Central Government to ensure the safe yatra of Shri Amarnath ji and curb the militant activities by giving free hands to the security forces.
Addressing media persons here today, the VHP State president condemned the statement of Muzaffar Beigh, Member Parliament, PDP that security forces have not followed the norms while conducting operation to eliminate Burhan Wani, who was a dreaded militant and carrying a prize of Rs 10 Lakh on his head. “Does Mr Beigh expect that security forces should have allowed dreaded terrorist to kill security personnel and wait for permission from CM?,” he questioned.
Sharma warned such political leaders to shut their mouths and not add fuel to fire. “Such statements are bound to demoralize the morale of security forces and also help to encourage militants”, he said, adding time has come when State and Central Governments must act swiftly to segregate all these separatist elements and finish them with heavy hands.
The VHP president asked the Government to deal firmly with the militants and separatists who have already caused much damage to the vehicles carrying/bringing the yatris and compensate the loss caused to them and person running langars and ensure proper supply to langars so that they can meet needs of yatris.
Sharma again warned State and Centre to curb activities of these separatists with heavy hand failing which a strong reaction may occur throughout India if any harm cause to yatris.
Suresh Chander, working president, Shakti Dutt Sharma, secretary, Sudershan Khajuria and joint general secretary, Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niwas were also present.
