SAMBA, July 17: Vijaypur Kothi team thrashed Shiv Nagar team and lifted the title trophy of the Cricket Tournament, organised in the memory of Rajesh Kumar.
Batting first, Vijaypur Kothi team scored 99 runs in 10 overs. Shiv Nagar team failed to chase the target and bundled out at 51 runs for all wickets.
On the valedictory function, Shakti Devi, Naib Sarpanch Vijaypur was the chief guest, who presented cash prize of Rs 5,100 and Rs 2,100 to the winner and runner-up teams in presence of Som Datt Verma, Mandal Pardhan Vijaypur.
While speaking, Shakti Devi said that such type of tournaments should be organised on regular basis to nourish the talent of cricketers.
She asked the youths to participate in the sports activities to keep themselves mentally and physically fit. She also asserted upon the youth to shun drugs and work for the development of a healthy society.
