JAMMU, July 18:  Continuing their struggle for the last one month notwithstanding repeated appeals of the Jammu University administration and the Vice-Chancellor to suspend the stir, the members of Jammu University Non-Gazetted Employees Union suspended their work and held token strike for four hours, here on Monday.
The protesting employees assembled near the Administration block  and  held a strong protest demonstration cum dharna there. They raised slogans in support of their demands and vowed to continue the struggle till logical conclusion.
The protesting  employees are demanding removal of 2750 Grade, cancellation of order on disengagement of eight employees of Human Genetics Department,  creation of posts of different categories, etc.
President NGEU, Vijay Kumar, addressed the protesting employees and  strongly criticized the Jammu University administration for its alleged insensitive and callous approach towards the employees, who are demanding their right. He warned to further intensify the protest if their demands are not conceded within a short period of time.
The protest was also addressed by some other  NGEU leaders, who alleged that some vested interests in Jammu University administration were misleading the Vice-Chancellor for creating chaos in the campus.
