JAMMU, July 24: An ambulance was donated by Ramesh Arora MLC from his CDF and keys of the same were handed over to Management Committee of National Federation of Blind Roop Nagar Jammu in a function organized in the premises to honor MLC Ramesh Arora where he was invited as a chief guest. Function was addressed by M.K. Badyal Member NBF , Mr Dubey Member NBF, Anju Sharma Principal and Rahul Kumar Bhagat Assistant Professor. All appreciated role of Arora and his approach towards blind students and also placed some demands before him which included raising of strength from 25 students to 50 and not dislocation teachers posted in different educational institutions in blind categories and further giving due place to the blinds in schools and other institutions where they have a role to perform.
While replying the demands Mr. Arora said that appropriate steps will be taken because a society can only make progress when every part of the society grows properly. He also assured that all possible help in case where blindness can be cured will be extended and the matter will be discussed with authorities of PGI and State Medical Department. He further said that no concept of total dependency has been changed and everyone wants to grow and compete and don’t want sympathetic approach. It is moral obligation of the society to work for betterment of blinds because they are part and parcel of the civilized society and has every right to live with dignity. Mr. Arora appreciated the efforts of National Blind Association in providing facilities to female child’s and said it is a job of great responsibility which people attached with the institutions are discharging.
Mr. Arora further said that Governor and Chief Minister will be asked to take all possible steps to help the institution. A Culture program was also presented by the blind students and Rahul Kumar Bhagat proposed the vote of thanks by singing a Ghazal in honour of Arora.
