NEW DELHI : Bajaj Auto today said its 150cc bike Bajaj V has crossed one lakh sales milestone within four months of its launch in the country.
The two-wheeler major further plans to hike the production of the bike, which has been crafted from the metal of INS Vikrant, in order to meet demand.
“We are ramping up the production by September as we are very positive that these numbers will only continue to grow and sustain the Bajaj V as one of the best selling premium commuter motorcycles in the country,” Bajaj Auto Ltd President (Motorcycle Sales) Eric Vas said in a statement.
However, he did not give further details.
The company had launched V in February while deliveries of the bike started on March 23.
In the month of April, Bajaj V entered the list of top 10 selling motorcycles in India. It now averages 25,000 bikes per month and has helped Bajaj Auto to increase its overall market share in the premium commuter 125cc+ segment by 10 per cent. (AGENCIES)
