Naqvi asks engineers to ensure timely completion of developmental projects

KARGIL, July 25: Ghulam Rasool Naqvi, the Executive Councillor for Works, Power and Tourism, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil, today asked the engineers to ensure timely completion of developmental projects by accelerating the pace of progress of ongoing construction and use standard quality of material in it.
He was chairing a high level review meeting of various departments falling under his administrative control, here today. The Executive Councillor for Rural Development, Syed Abass Rizvi, Executive Councillor for Health and Industries Mohsin Ali, Councillor Haji Ghulam Mohammad, Councillor Shiekh Mohd Raza, SE PWD Kargil, SE Mechanical, Executive Engineers of PWDs and PPD were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, Ghulam Rasool Naqvi took detailed review of various ongoing developmental works of the district, which include progress report about Kargil-Zanksar National Highway 301, construction of roads under CRF schemes, installation of Energy meters etc.
The SE PWD informed that the Action Plan of National Highway for further Rs 100 crore has been approved and is being received shortly and the progress on construction of roads under CRF schemes was on full swing. The Executive Councillor issued direction to ensure finalization of the land/house/trees compensation of the CRF scheme so that the scheme could be executed smoothly.
Further, the AEE of PDD informed during the meeting that out of 14000 connections, 11000 energy meters have been installed by the department. He further informed that the department has increased the monthly usage charge from Rs 100/- to Rs 324/- for non metered customers so that the customers could compel for the installation of energy meter. The Executive Councillor issued direction to the department to make announcement through AIR and other sources for general awareness of the public to install energy meter so that their monthly charges could be reduced.
