JAMMU, July 26: Department of Library and Information Science, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Directorate of Library and Research, J&K, is organizing 10 days training programme from today for the library professionals of public libraries of Jammu province.
The training programme will focus on latest techniques of library and information science/ software e-Granthalaya/ internet, etc for maintaining books/ library records and for making the Libraries of this Department more vibrant for the benefit of the borrowers/ students/ scholars and general public.
In the inaugural programme, Prof Sangita Gupta assured the participants that the technical expertise of the department would train the library professionals in best possible way.
O P Sangral, Deputy Director, Libraries, enlightened the participants about the vision of the State Government towards strengthening the public libraries.
Rajni Mishra, Scientist ‘D’ from NIC New Delhi and Prof Rajender Gupta, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, JU also spoke on the occasion.
