MENDHAR, July 27: A young woman was murdered and his body was thrown into a nallah in Gursai area of Mendhar in district Poonch.
The deceased was later identified as Shaheen Fatma, wife of Abid Hussain, resident of Kangra-Galuta in Gursai area of Mendhar. Her dead body with multiple stab wounds was noticed by a villager lying at the bank of a nallah in Kandi area of Galuta this afternoon.
He informed police at Gurasai police station. SDPO, Mendhar Shahid Nahim, along with SHO and some police men reached the spot and after examining spot, the police shifted the body to the mortuary of Mendhar hospital for autopsy.
The police came to know that a young housewife from Galuta area was missing and her family members had also lodged a missing report a few days back. The police told them about recovery of body. They came to hospital and identified the body this evening.
The SDPO said that it was clear case of murder. He said the body after autopsy will be handed over to the family. The husband of the accused works in Delhi. It was his second marriage and from first marriage of the woman, there is a minor child. She was married to Abid, hardly one and half year back. He said that police will work on all the angles and is expecting a clue shortly.
