DODA, July 30: The prize distribution ceremony to felicitate winners of the painting competition organized by Excise Department on the theme “Drug Addiction is an invitation to Death and Destruction” was held at Town Hall here today.
DDC Doda Bhupinder Kumar was chief guest on the occasion.
The painting competition on the theme “Drug Addiction is an invitation to Death and Destruction” was organised by the Excise department on May 22, 2016.
Neha Manhas, a student of class 6th of Iqra Model HS Doda was declared as the winner under 1st to 6th class category and was awarded with a trophy and cash prize of Rs 4000. Samriti Jaipuria and Aayan Manhas from Green Model HSS Doda bagged the 2nd and 3rd positions with a trophy and cash prize of Rs 3000 and 2000 respectively.
Under 6th to 12th class category, Alina Suhrawardy of Govt Girls HSS Doda bagged the first position with a trophy and cash prize of Rs 4000 whereas Momin Malik and Zobia Tabassum were declared 2nd and 3rd respectively.
DDC Doda who was chief guest on the occasion congratulated the Excise department for organising the Competition on such an important theme of drug addiction. He said that the present generation is getting much involved in the menace of drugs due to environmental factors, lack of parental care and other social issues.
SSP Doda Zahid Manhas, ACR Doda, Ranjeet Singh, Tehsildar Doda, Nasir Ali, District Information Officer, Imran Naik, ETO Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range, Shokat Matoo, besides teachers and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
