Yatri from Maharashtra dies, toll 20

SRINAGAR: A yatri from Maharashtra died due to cardiac arrest at Pisso top on traditional Pahalgam track on way to holy cave, a yatra official said.
He said that a yatri identified as 65-year-old Palvi Manik Shram, son of Shiv Ram Manik, resident of Maharashtra suffered massive cardiac arrest at Pissu top.
However, he was immediately rushed to health centre where he was declared brought dead. With this a total of 16 pilgrims, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), two sevadars and a local driver have died since the commencement of the 48-day-long annual pilgrimage from July 2 from both Baltal and Pahalgam tracks.
A yatri and local driver were killed in a road accident while 15 other pilgrims died due to cardiac arrest. (AGENCFIES)
