SOS Intl organizes massive rally of PoK refugees

RAJOURI, Aug 1: To express strong resentment over biased approach of Government in dealing different displaced communities of the State with different yardsticks, SOS International, an organization for PoK Displaced Persons organized a massive rally here today.
Thousands of life members of SOS International from Rajouri attended the rally and expressed their anguish against Union and State Governments over their discriminative conduct while handling the issues of PoK Refugees who have been facing the brunt of system for the last seven decades.
Targeting BJP for keeping most biased approach towards PoK refugees who are bonafide citizens of J&K State, Chuni said that they (BJP leaders) came to PoK refugees with begging bowl only during elections.
“Tall promises were made which include permanent settlement of PoK refugees, reservation to the wards in professional and technical institutions across India, reservation to unemployed youths in Government jobs, constitution of PoK refugees development board, reservation of Assembly and Council seats for PoK refugees and many more but Alas! BJP totally back stepped from its promises. What a joke being played with the most destitute community of the State!” Chuni exclaimed.
“Since 1947, PoK DPs have been struggling for much awaited justice but it is denied all the time which has been adding more afflictions to our survival. In all phases, we have been fallen prey to hostile Government policies for several times but this time we are not going to tolerate any unfavourable step of Government anymore” he added.
He further said that on November 7, 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Kashmir announced Rs 80, 000 crore package for the State of J&K in which 78, 000 crore was allocated for Kashmir Province and Rs 2, 000 crore for PoK refugees adding, out of Kashmir’s Rs 78, 000 crore half of the amount has already been disbursed and whereabouts of Rs 2, 000 crore meant for PoK refugees is still unknown.
