J&K Speed Ball team secures runner-up position in 6th National Federation Cup

JAMMU, Aug 11: Jammu and Kashmir Speed Ball team secured runner-up position in the 6th National Federation Speed Ball Championship, held recently at Hyderabad.
About 300 students from 15 States of the country participated in the event. A team of 20 members from J&K participated in the competition.
In this championship, Kerala emerged overall champion, while J&K and Gujarat claimed runner-up and second runner-up positions. J&K team won 10 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals.
The gold medals were claimed by Paramjeet Singh, Gurmanjeet Singh, Ankit Sharma, Aditya Athlima, Ashutosh Singh, Suryansh Rabgotra, Ajay Singh, Aryan Kangotra, Adveer and Kulbushan Sharma, while silver medals were clinched by Anjali Sharma, Yashica Pandita, Mohd Sami, Akarshan Rasyal and Mradima Gupta. The bronze medals were bagged by Attul Verma, Raghav Bral, Shaunik Gupta and Sidharth Mahajan. The gold medal winners will now participate in the Senior National Speed Ball Championship scheduled to be held in the month of October at New Delhi.
Vice President of Association SSP Railways Rajinder Gupta received the team at Jammu in presence of other members of JKSBA SP Langer, VK Sharma, Vinod Gupta, Nitish Mahajan, Ravi Tikku, Pawan Kumar and Rashpal Singh.
The J&K team was accompanied by Sunny Nanda as coach and Kulbushan Sharma as team official.
