JCC registers 5 runs win over MCC in inaugural tie of 1st KP Cup

JAMMU, Aug 12: Jhelum Cricket Club (JCC) registered 5 runs win over Magnum Cricket Club (MCC) in a keenly contested inaugural tie of the 1st KP Cup, being organized in the memory of Late MK Kakapuri, at KC Sports Club, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, JCC made 102 runs by loosing all wickets. Deepak Manhas was the top scorer with 39 runs, while Arvind Bakshi and Sunil made 15 and 11 runs respectively.
From MCC side, Rajeev scalped 3 wickets, while Vinod and Rajan took 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, MCC players tried their level best to win the match, but failed and bundled out at 97 runs by losing all wickets. Rahul chipped in 28 runs, while Vinod and Sunil made 18 and 15 runs respectively.
From JCC side, Sanjay Raina was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, while Arvind Bakshi scalped 2 wickets.
Sanjay Raina of JCC was adjudged as Man of the Match.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain and Madan as umpires, while Rahul Tickoo and Deepak Pandita maintained the scorecard. Anil Koul was the commentator.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by senior BJP leader Sheila Handoo in presence of MK Yogi, President, NC Migrant Cell, CL Chrungoo, Rajeev Pandita, etc.
The tournament is being organized by Vinod Pandita and Deepak Fotedar from Star Sports, Gogji Bagh, Srinagar.
