JAMMU, Aug 14: Spartan Cricket Club (SCC), Whites Cricket Club (WCC) and Surinder Cricket Club outplayed rivals in their respective matches and sailed into the next round of the ongoing KP Cup Cricket Tournament, being played at KC Sports Club ground, here today.
In the first match, Gopinath Cricket Club (GCC) lost to SCC by 4 wickets.
Batting first, GCC made 111 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Sunny made 30 runs, while Satish and Ajay scored 20 and 12 runs respectively.
From SCC side, Karan scalped 3 wickets, while Prem took one wicket.
In reply, SCC chased the target in 19 overs by losing 6 wickets. Karan chipped in 38 runs, while Rahul and Rakesh made 19 and 12 runs respectively.
From GCC side, Surinder took 2 wickets, while Sunil and Sunny scalped one wicket each.
Karan of SCC was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In the second match, WCC registered 55 runs win over Bramh Cricket Club (BCC).
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, WCC scored 157 runs by losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Kamalpreet played a splendid inning of 54 runs off 35 balls including five balls over the fence and three boundaries, while Rahul and Ravi Pandita made 40 and 39 runs respectively.
From BCC side, Sunny Bhan scalped 2 wickets, while Vinod and Munna took one wicket apiece.
In the second inning, BCC failed to chase the target and bundled out at 102 runs by losing all wickets in 15.1 overs. Rajat Safaya made 28 runs, while Sunny Bhan and Deepu scored 11 and 10 runs respectively.
From WCC side, Ravi Pandita scalped 3 wickets, while Rahul and Anil took 2 wickets each.
Ravi Pandita of WCC was declared as Man of the Match.
In the third and last match of the day, Surinder Cricket Club smashed New Star Cricket Club (NSCC) by one wicket and entered into the next round of the tourney.
NSCC won the toss and elected to bat first. They made 73 runs by losing all wickets in 15.2 overs. Satish and Mintoo made 24 and 20 runs respectively.
From Surinder Cricket Club side, Rajesh and Tayyab scalped 4 wickets each, while Deepak took 2 wickets.
In reply, Surinder Cricket Club chased the target in 19 overs by losing 9 wickets. Rajesh made 34 runs, while Rohit scored 12 runs.
From NSCC side, Sunny took 4 wickets, while Vishal scalped 2 wickets and Provin clinched 1 wicket.
Rajesh of Surinder Cricket Club was adjudged as Man of the Match.
