JAMMU, Aug 18: Emphasizing for firm handling of the problems in the troubled Valley as also around the LoC and borders in J&K, the former Union Minister, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has expressed his concern over the bloodshed of youths and said that it was a matter of soul seething but a challenge both for the State and Central leadership to prove that their adversaries were miscalculated.
In a statement, Prof Gupta said that what was happening in Kashmir was not the new thing. “It is a new chapter of the old proxy war launched by Pakistan. Lot of bloodshed and sufferings to the mankind has been there but for religious bigotry and parochial approach. Thus, a war like situation has been created and it should be fought like a war instead of showing any vacillation,” he added.
Ridiculing those, especially in the Congress and National Conference, who are ranting for a political settlement of Kashmir, Prof Gupta questioned that why they do not have such a solution when they themselves were at helm of affairs for so many years.
He further said that these leaders themselves should come out that what can be the political settlement with the aggressor who went upon to destroy what they call India and its ethos i.e secularism which provides opportunity to all to live and let live.
Prof Gupta said Pakistan has no locus standii in J&K and its position is that of an aggressor. The State is an integral part of India and it would be defended as per the constitution and the unanimous resolve of Parliament.
He further said, that troubled areas of the Valley are just 1/8th of the State and there is need to dispel the impression that this State is comprised of only that of the Valley.
No will of a region or that of section can be imposed on the entire State which is known as J&K and had acceded to India under the procedure.
Prof Gupta appealed to the mislead youth of Kashmir to shed violence and opt for peaceful means to get solve their grievances as violence is no solution to any problems.
