JAMMU, Aug 20: BJP national general secretary and pointman on Jammu and Kashmir, Ram Madhav, today took on the opposition parties of the State, who met President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi and called for political solution to Kashmir saying when these parties were in power, they never talked about it.
“They talk of political solution but never clarify. What it is 2 d rants of Azadi. In power they never offered it when stones were pelted at them,” Madhav tweeted after former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed media in New Delhi after handing over a memorandum to the President.
Asserting that talk of political solution is only to score political points, Madhav charged the opposition parties of doing nothing to help State bring normalcy. “Instead, they helped spread unrest,” he said.
“When Government hosted Independence Day in all districts (of Jammu and Kashmir) and Ministers went to hoist tricolor, most of the worthies were simply absent. That’s political solution,” the BJP leader commented.
It may be mentioned here that majority of opposition leaders hadn’t attended Independence Day celebrations in the Valley.
