REASI, Aug 21: In separate cases, Police today smashed two illegal stills and arrested the accused bootleggers.
On specific information that one Kapoor Singh of Tutay Da Bagh in Sangar, Tehsil Pouni, was indulged in making and selling of illicit liquor, a team of Police personnel, headed by SHO Ransoor, Sub Inspector Jasvinder Choudhary, conducted a raid.
Police smashed the illicit still and recovered one bottle of Desi liquor besides 200 litres Lahan along with material using for preparation of illicit liquor from the possession of Kapoor Singh. The accused person was arrested while the recovered liquor was seized and Lahan got destroyed on the spot.
On this, case under FIR No. 9/2016 U/S 48-E Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Ransoo.
In another case, Police also raided the house of one Ashok Singh of Tutay Da Bagh Sangad, who was running an illicit still for preparing Desi liquor for sale. Police smashed the still and recovered 300 litre lahan and one bottle Desi liquor. The accused was arrested and lahan was destroyed on the spot.
A case under FIR number 10/2016, under section 48 (E) Excise Act has been registered in this regard at Police Station Mahore.
