JAMMU, Aug 21: Highlighting three priorities of Modi Government on Jammu and Kashmir, in the wake of present unrest in Valley, Union Minister of Finance, Arun Jaitley today made it categorical that there will be no compromise with those indulging in violence but present Government’s efforts for development of all three regions of the State which it was denied during last 60 years will continue.
Addressing the BJP’s mammoth rally at Smailpur in Bari Brahmana tehsil of Samba district which is the birth place of founder of Praja Parishad and former President of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, Jaitley said that there will be no compromise with Pakistan, separatists and terrorists so far as national unity and integrity is concerned while development of all the three regions of the State will be their top priority.
The rally was organised in connection with nationwide fortnight programme of Azadi 70 started from August 9 and which will conclude on August 23.
Maintaining that situation in Kashmir was serious, Jaitley said those indulging in stone pelting in Kashmir are not Satyagrahis but aggressors and it is unfortunate that some people with limited vision can’t see this.
Making a scathing attack on Pakistan, Jaitley  held it responsible for present unrest and mob violence in Kashmir saying the neighboring country was attacking the unity and integrity of India by adopting a new strategy after failing to annex J&K in three conventional wars and proxy war.
The Union Minister said that Pakistan, separatists and religious leaders were involved in this type of attack and terming it a serious situation to disintegrate India, he reiterated that there will be no compromise on national unity and integrity and like the other conventional wars Pakistan will suffer a humiliating  defeat in this kind of misadventures again.
He said after Amarnath agitation in 2008 another strategy was started by Pakistan to create unrest through stone -pelting. “The stones were carried in school bags and security forces and police is being attacked. While justifying police retaliation, he said the stone -pelters are not Satyagrahis (non violence) and police will look as mute spectator to them.
Lambasting Pakistan, he said it never considered J&K as an integral part of India and while Indian policy was positive as the nation worked for development, removal of poverty, hunger etc, the Pakistan’s policy was negative and unfortunately it had no positive agenda so it proved a failed State.
“To divert the attention of its people from its failures Pakistan turned their attention towards India”. It suddenly attacked in 1947 by sending armed desperados and snatched a portion of J&K. He said to stop Pakistani forces from marching ahead Brig Rajinder Singh made supreme sacrifice and entire nation salutes him for that. Later Pakistan was also defeated in two conventional wars of 1965 and 1971 as well as Kargil war, he added.
Pakistan tried to internationalize Kashmir but no nation supported it. “In 1989 Pakistan made another bid of annexing Kashmir through terrorism by installing training camps in its territory but it attained nothing as thousands of terrorists were killed over the years”, he added.
The Union Minister said that world scenario has changed after 9/11 when America was attacked by terrorists. He said Pakistan failed to snatch Kashmir through conventional wars as well as proxy war and instead Pakistani support to terrorists was internationalized after that.
Making a dig at National Conference (NC) and Congress which ruled the State for last 60 years, the Union Minister said  had the initiative of development taken place in the State during this period and institutes like AIIMS, IITs, Medical Colleges and IIMs established the situation could have been quite different at present.
He said that Jammu being the base of BJP is the another priority of the party. He said BJP’s mission should not only to be confined to construction of international stadium at Smailpur but construction of special Samaraks of Prem Nath Dogra like personalities.
Jaitley said why it has become necessary that we should organise such rallies even after the 70 years of independence to imbibe the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among the people when country has been under foreign rule for centuries together.
He said the way four days back Azadi slogans were raised by a group of people at Bangalore and the Home Minister of Karnataka gave a statement that what happened in Bangalore is in no way wrong or crime and this is a cause of concern. Earlier, such voices were raised in JNU where also a group of people raised slogans to fragment India into pieces (Bharat Key Tukdey Tukdey Hongay). But the Congress vice president went to JNU to support them while opposition parties did not speak even a word against such outbursts. “This is unfortunate for the nation that such a thinking prevails among some people and parties here”, he added.
He said “the people raising such slogans need to be confronted and fought tooth and nail but this was not done by any party except BJP as others want to convert it into the vote”.
Paying tributes to the founder president of Bharatiya Janata Party Pt Shamaprasad Mookerjee and Pt Prem Nath Dogra, he said  “the path chosen by them was real while the path chosen by others led to secessionism and separatism”.
Addressing the rally, Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh termed Jammu and Kashmir a glaring example of the “failure” of Nehru’s political model.
He said “yesterday, Union Finance Minister spoke about the failed Nehruvian model of economy and today I say that if you want to see the failed political model of Nehru, then Jammu and Kashmir is the best example”.
Dr Singh said Jammu and Kashmir is a glaring example of the “failed” politics of the first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.
He said the area of Jammu and Kashmir under the control of Maharaja Hari Singh was 2.25 lakh square kilometers, but due to the “failed” political approach of first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, India got only one lakh square kilometers of the area, rest was occupied by Pakistan like area of Gilgit and Baltistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
“The Maharaja was so annoyed with Nehru that he decided never to return to Jammu and Kashmir and breathed his last in Mumbai”, Singh said.
He said the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be complete only and the dream of Pt Prem Nath Dogra will be fulfilled after the Indian flag is unfurled in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kotli.
Singh said that raising issue of Human Rights abuses in Balochistan was necessary for the “self defence” of the country, as the situation in the neighborhood directly affects us.
“People say that by raising the issue of Balochistan we are interfering in the internal matters of other country, whether it is interference or not, but when someone across the wall of your house is indulge in slaughter, it is your right to act for your own safety and your defence”, he said.
He said that if there was problem in the neighborhood, then “we are affected, whether it is Baluchistan or Pakistan occupied Kashmir”, .
He said Smailpur has made entire Dogra land to feel proud by giving birth to many heros like Pt Prem Nath Dogra while the village of Brig Rajinder Singh was also adjacent to it and the two great artists Krishan Smailpuri and Tara Smailpuri were also from this village.
Addressing the rally, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh said that PM’s stand on PoK, Gilgit Baltistan and Balochistan has sent a good message across the country. He reiterated that no body will be allowed to disintegrate India and there will be no compromise on national interests.
Paying rich tributes to Dr Mookerjee and Pt Prem Nath Dogra, he said it was due to their struggle and sacrifices that the Tricolour is unfurled in the State at present.
He also paid tributes to those martyrs who laid down their lives during three wars with Pakistan and ongoing proxy war.
BJP State president, Sat Sharma in his address made a scathing attack on opposition and held them responsible for present unrest in Valley. “Some people do not digest the PDP-BJP coalition in the State and this is the reason that there is unrest in Valley at present”, he added.
This rally is a challenge to separatists and anti national elements as Tricolurs are unfurling in entire State, he added.
Industries and Commerce Minister Chander Prakash Ganga who is also the MLA of the Constituency said that some people are wary of the developmental programmes started by coalition  so they tried to disturb the situation in Valley.
He demanded that the Smailpur stadium be made international stadium and announced that the Government school at Smailpur will be converted into a Model School.
Speaker Kavinder Gupta, BJP MP (Lok Sabha), Jugal Kishore Sharma and MP (RS) Shamsher Singh Manhas also addressed the rally. While Minister of PHE Irrigation and FC, Ch Shyam, Minister of Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Abdul Gani Kohli, Minister of Transport, Sunil Sharma, BJP general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh, senior party leader, Vikram Randhwa were present on the dais.
The stage was managed by Sanjeev Sharma senior Party leader while vote of thanks was proposed by MLA Samba Devinder Manyal.
