JAMMU, Aug 24: The University of Jammu in collaboration with the National e-governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India and State e-Governance Mission Team (SeTM), Department of Information Technology, J&K Government, organised one day Digital India Workshop for the NSS volunteers from different colleges and NSS campus units along with their programme officers here at the University of Jammu, which was inaugurated by Simrandeep Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu.
In his inaugural address, Deputy Commissioner spoke about the working of his e-office through his personal experience. He also stressed on the importance of the Digital Programmes and their role in making corruption free India.
Prof Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu, in her presidential remarks spoke on the importance and power of Digital India Mission. She also complemented the Office of the Programme Coordinator and the entire team for organising this workshop in the campus and making it a success.
Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman NSS Campus Units, addressed the gathering and apprised them about the role of NSS in carrying out the mission of digital India among the masses. Shaila Farooq, Senior Consultant, SeMT spoke on the theme of the work shop. Dr Vishav Raksha, Programme Coordinator, NSS, University of Jammu, presented the agenda of the workshop and gave the formal vote of thanks.
The technical sessions comprised of the skit competition, poster making, quiz and idea generation which carried the motto and information of Digital India in which the volunteers from the different colleges participated. The movie and the presentations were made by the delegates from the Ministry of Information Technology. During the valedictory function, certificates and prizes were distributed by Barnali Mukherjee, Senior Consultant, Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India and Dr Vishav Raksha, NSS Programme Coordinator, University of Jammu. Dr Sanjay Sharma, Sumeet Sharma and Ifra Kak were the adjudicators during the workshop. The Programme was conducted by Ms Bhanu Priya.
Prof Satnam Kour, DSW, Dr Anupama Vohra, Dr Seema Rohmetra, Dr Hema Gandotra and various programme officers from different units among others were present in the workshop. Ruhi Gupta, Priyanka Ganjoo, Sheraz Kouser, Diksha Nargotra, and Anil Sharma managed the stage and the hall settings.
