Sir,
I would like to invite attention of all Jammu political leaders to save Gandhi Nagar Branch of Yoga Ashram-Mantalai from turning into ruins. This multi-storey building exists in 78 A/D Gandhi Nagar Jammu. This beautiful building was built by Swami Dherandra Brahamchari as base camp of Aparna Ashram Mantalai to impart yoga training to Jammu people. Accordingly, Yoga classes were started as per schedule printed on a Board which exists till date. It is very sorry state of affairs on our part that this beautiful building has turned into semi-jungle with trees and wild bushes grown altogether from bottom to top. Had there been such a huge building constructed in any other part of this state, it would have been utilised properly. Even common man of Jammu does not know anything about this building and its glorious history. Some times back it was told that buildings of such height are not allowed in this area, but now with more height than this, huge buildings have been built.
This building has been constructed under supervision of experts, so even today with small repair and renovation it can be utilised for another more than hundred years. It is requested that Govt should immediately undertake its repair and handover this building to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Shrine Board Katra, but the name of Swami Ji should remain attached with it for ever. In the open space very costly cars and other vehicles are lying without proper care and what was and what is inside the building now is not known. The cars and vehicles getting rust and other costly items may please be shifted to Mantalai and displayed properly. SMVD-Katra can start yoga classes in this Ashram under special initiative to keep its name and fame alive.
Yours etc….
