JAMMU, Aug 26:
Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council today ordered the coaches and instructors to upload training sessions on social media so that it can be monitored on routine basis.
In an order issued here, the State Sports Council directed the officials concerned ordering coaches and instructors to click their training sessions and later upload them on social media.
“An order has been issued by the higher ups following which all coaches, representing different streams and disciplines of sports are asked to click the video clips in their mobiles and upload them on Facebook and Whatsapp,” an official here said.
He said the FB page and the ‘Whatsapp’ group has been created and the trainers will upload the videos on it.
Meanwhile, one of the parents accompanying his ward during the training session at Maulana Azad Stadium rued the decision, asserting that it will effect the coaching.
“The coach will either train the players or click videos,” said a parent adding that why does not the department appoint or deploy a senior official to monitor the sessions and let him clip the videos and upload them, accordingly.
“Such an order is a boon or a bane I can’t understand,” another parent rued.
He rued that apart from affecting coaching session, it will also help “non-serious” trainers to click video and get the mileage. “Yes, we have issued an order of uploading the videos of regular training sessions on social media,” Wahid Parra, Secretary, State Sports Council said.
Mr Parra claimed that by doing so, the training sessions will be monitored daily and will also keep the department updated of coaches/instructors functioning. (UNI)
