JAMMU, Aug 31: Jammu Tigers and Jammu Kings outplayed rivals in their respective matches and advanced to the next stage of the ongoing J&K Peace T-20 Championship, being organized by Vishal Cricket Club (VCC), Jammu and District Sports Council Jammu in collaboration with Sehwag Academy under the slogan “Lets’ Play for Peace”.
In Group-A match played at Parade ground, Jammu Tigers defeated Jammu Sunrisers by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Jammu Sunrisers scored paltry 48 runs in 19.3 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Yuvraj made 14 runs, while Kartik scored 8 runs.
From Jammu Tigers side, Moulik Jain took 3 wickets, while Abay Tondon and Tushar scalped 2 wickets. Umar took one wicket.
In reply, Jammu Tigers achieved the target in 13 overs for the lost of 2 wickets. Arya Sachivanch was the top scorer with 23 runs, while Shavac scored 12 runs.
From Jammu Sunrisers side, Varsal and Varinder took 1 wicket apiece.
Moulik Jain of Jammu Tigers was adjudged as Man of the match.
In Group-B match played at Sehwag Cricket Academy in Heritage School, Jammu Kings registered 4 wickets win over Jammu Warriors.
Batting first, Jammu Warriors scored 99 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs. Harsh was the highest scorer with 33runs, while Dhruv made 19 runs and Achintiya chipped in 16 runs.
From Jammu Kings side, Uttkarsh took 2 wickets and Kanav scalped 1 wicket.
In the second inning, Jammu Kings chased the target in 18 overs by losing 6 wickets. Sourav made 22 runs, while Surya scored 13 runs. Uttkarsh and Zaffer chipped in 11 runs each.
From Jammu Warriors, side, Adhishwer took 2 wickets, while Pujara and Dhruv scalped one wicket each.
Uttkarsh of Jammu Kings was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep manchanda, Vinod, Zafar, Manjeet Singh and Suhail.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Warriors will take on Jammu Superstars at Parade ground, while Jammu Kings will lock horns with Jammu Sunrisers at Sehwag Academy.
