JAMMU, Aug 31: Inter School, Zonal and District Level Competitions, being organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports in various disciplines were held at different venues.
JAMMU: Jammu thrashed Doda by 5 runs in a super over and lifted the title of the under-19 Inter District Division Level Cricket Tournament, here today. Earlier, the match ended in a tie as both the teams scored 101 runs in the stipulated 18 overs. The match was decided in the super over wherein District Jammu managed to score 11 runs for the loss of 1 wicket, which the opponent Doda team failed to chase and lost the match by 5 runs.
Inter-School Tournament of Districts Jammu in the disciplines of Kho-Kho and Kabaddi of Miran Sahib and RS Pura Zone concluded. In Kabaddi, GGHSS RS Pura thrashed GHSS Miran Sahib and lifted the title trophy, whereas in Kho-Kho final, GGHSS Miran Sahib emerged winner by defeating GGHSS RS Pura by 12 points.
Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament in the discipline of Volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho was held at GHSS Domana. In Kabaddi quarterfinal, GHSS Domana beat GHSS Jhiri, GHSS Gho Manhasa defeated GHSS Bhalwal, GHSS Gharota thrashed GHSS Marh and Vishav Bharati Public School smashed Anuradha Public School.
In Volleyball quarterfinal GHSS Jhiri, GHSS Domana and APS Domana entered into semis by thrashing GHSS Marh, GHSS Gharota and GHSS Bhalwal respectively.
In Kho-Kho quarterfinal, GHSS Domana beat GHSS Jhiri and GHSS Gharota defeated GHSS Bhalwal.
Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament in the discipline of Kho-Kho and Kabaddi for under-19 girls was played at GHSS Canal Road, here today. In Kho-Kho final, GHSS Canal Road registered win over GHSS Nagrota and in Kabaddi final, GHSS Canal Road crushed GHSS Nowabad.
Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament of Akhnoor and Chowki Choura Zone in the discipline of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball for under-19 boys and girls was played at GBHSS Akhnoor.
In Kabaddi (boys), GBHSS Akhnoor thrashed GHSS Narran Bala and in Kho-Kho (boys), GBHSS Akhnoor entered into final. In Volleyball (boys), GBHSS Akhnoor entered in the next round.
In Kabaddi (girls), GGHSS Akhnoor thrashed ST Francis Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor and in Kho-Kho (girls), GGHSS Akhnoor crushed ST Francis Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor.
