Regional Sports Meet concludes at KV Bantalab

JAMMU, Sept 1: Two day long 47th KVS Regional Sports Meet in the discipline of chess for under-14, 16 and 19 boys concluded at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab.
V Santhosh Kumar, Principal, KV Bantalab was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, who gave away the medals to the winners of the competitions.
The selection of players was also made for participation in KVS National Sports Meet to be held soon.
In the meet, 114 students and 19 teacher escorts from 16 different Kendriya Vidyalayas, situated in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and J&K participated.
In under-14 Chess, Kunal Yadav of KV 2 Jammu Cantt , Sanyam Gupta of KV No.1 Gandhi Nagar and Shubham of KV No 2 Jammu Cantt claimed first three positions respectively, while in under-17 Chess, Naman of KV Rajouri, Sovitt Thappa of KV Lakhanpur and Mohammad Zabair Khan of KV Rajouri clinched first, second and third positions respectively. In under-19 Chess, the first position was bagged by Aryan of KV No 2 Pathankot, the second prize was bagged by Shubdeep of KV Hiranagar and the third position was bagged by Imtiyaz Ahmed of KV Sunjwan.
KV Bantalab students presented cultural items during the closing ceremony.
V.S Kumar in his address encouraged the students to try their level best to achieve their desired goals.
