Vipan to take on Kunal in District Junior Snooker C’ship summit clash today

JAMMU, Sept 1: Vipan Malhi will take on Kunal Jamwal in the summit clash of the ongoing District Junior Snooker Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier in the first semifinal, Vipan Malhi smashed Pankaj by straight 3-0 frames (63-27, 39-31 and 63-61) and entered into the , whereas in the second semis, Kunal Jamwal beat Basit Wani by 3-2 frames.
Kunal won the first frame by 60-23, but the game was equalized by Basit by winning the second frame by 63-40.
Basit continued the winning pace and won the third frame by 52-01, but could not maintain the lead in the fourth frame and lost it to Kunal by 50-32.
In the decider frame, Kunal registered win over Basit by 57-29 and confirmed his clash in the final of the tournament with Vipan Malhi.
Earlier, Pankaj Kumar outplayed Akhil Gupta by straight 2-0 frames and won the title of the Sub Junior District Snooker Championship, organized by JKBSA at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here.
In the first frame, Pankaj thrashed Akhil by 48-12 and in the second frame, Pankaj displayed exemplary skills and registered win over Akhil in the second frame also by 48-30.
