Abhi, Vidit, Ishuk sail in semis of Senior Snooker Championship

JAMMU, Sept 6: Abhi Gupta, Vidit Gawri and Ishuk Chowdhary outplayed rivals and sailed into the semis of the ongoing Senior Snooker Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the first quarterfinal match, Abhi Gupta smashed Nikhil Kapahi by straight 3-0 frames with the score of 47-38, 45-15 and 53-44.
Vidit Gawri registered win over Rizwan Ahmed by 3-1 in the second quarterfinal. Vidit won the first frame by 42-29 and also registered win in the second frame by 70-54. Rizwan won the third frame by 58-25 and made a comeback in the game, but luck does not favoured him and he lost the fourth frame to Vidit by 64-52.
In the third quarterfinal match, Ishuk Chowdhary smashed Abhishek by 3-2. Ishuk registered win in the first frame by 49-46 and Abhishek equalized the game after winning the second frame by 56-19. Abhishek continued the winning pace and won the third frame by 61-32, but Ishuk bounced back in the fourth frame and won it by 62-10. In the decider frame, Ishuk and Abhishek played well, but Ishuk registered win by 53-43 and entered into semis.
Meanwhile, in Junior Billiards Championship, being organized by JKBSA at same venue, Padam Gupta and Manik Sharma entered into next round.
Padam Gupta defeated Omang Gupta by straight 2-0 frames with the score of 50-24 and 50-40 in the first fixture, whereas in the second match, Manik Sharma registered win over Basit Wani by 2-1 with the score of 38-51, 52-42 and 50-18.
