JAMMU, Sept 6: Senior key position holders from Students’ Council of KC Public School comprising of Head Girl, Head Boy and Cultural, Sports and Literary captains attended a motivational workshop organized by British Council sponsored Teaching Assistants Suzanne Henry and James Richardson working in the school.
Suzanne talked about leadership roles and social actions and how the youth can play a vital role in addressing issues by voicing their concerns in a variety of ways like social media, newsletters, campaigns, street theatre and community service.
She also showed a video presentation of a powerful poem, ‘Knock Knock’ which highlighted the theme that though we all love our parents, we do not have to make choices of what professional work they did themselves. Instead we must do better than what they did and succeed where they had failed.
James Richardson talked about the role the Students’ Council can play to bring changes in the school community by becoming the role model. Group discussions formed the main highlights of the workshop. Each student was given the opportunity to talk and share views and opinions on a variety of topics.
Principal, Amarendra Mishra, said that workshop would help students to share ideas, interests, and concerns with their teachers and would also go a long way in organizing school-wide activities including community service.
