Div Com convenes civil society meet at Ramban

RAMBAN, Sept 11: Divisi-onal Commissioner Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal, today convened a meeting with representatives of civil society and officers of the civil and police administration and appreciated their efforts in maintaining peace and brotherhood in the district.
Inspector General of Police Jammu Danish Rana, District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz and Senior Superintendent of Police Randeep Kumar besides representatives of religious organizations, political parties, business establishments, bar associations, tribal communities, NGOs and locals from the areas of Gool, Banihal, Rajgarh, Batote and Ramsoo attended the meet.
Many issues were raised by the locals including uninterrupted water and power supply, clean drinking water, early completion of filter plants for Ramban town, repairing of suspension bridge over river Chenab connecting Ramban city with district headquarter, land compensation, free traffic flow on NHW, smooth nomads movement on roads and speeding up progress of various developmental projects.
The Divisional Commiss-ioner assured that concerted efforts will be made to provide resolution to the concerns put forth by the people. He admired the efforts of local people for maintaining communal harmony in the district, adding that peace is fundamental for development and prosperity of any area.
Later, Divisional Commiss-ioner took a brief meeting with district administration and discussed various issues raised by the civil society. He instructed the officers for resolving the genuine issues on priority to develop confidence among common masses as far as the service delivery system is concerned.
District Development Commissioner apprised the meeting of ongoing security situation, developmental scenario and administrative preparedness in the district.
