JAMMU, Sept 29: State Vigilance Organization today presented challan against Ikhlaq Hussain Peer, the then AEE and Raja Faisal, the then Junior Engineer PWD (R&B) in a trap case.
According to the Vigilance case, on July 25, 2011, one Hoshiyar Singh lodged a written complaint alleging that the complainant, who is a contractor by profession, was allotted work of black topping of road from Doda to Ganeka, which he completed in the month of June 2010. He received 70 % payment and 20 % worth Rs 2 lakh was pending.
When he approached the AEE and JE for release of pending work, both the officers demanded illegal gratification of Rs 45000 from the complainant for release of payment. On the basis of complaint, the Vigilance Organization registered a case and later AEE and JE were caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe.
Today, after completion of investigation, Vigilance presented challan in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu.
