SRINAGAR, Sept 13: A policeman injured in a militant attack on security forces on August 15 in Srinagar died at AIIMS today.
Constable Rouf Ahmed had sustained injuries in the attack in Srinagar’s Nowhatta area. He succumbed to injuries at the hospital this morning.
A CRPF officer and two militants were killed while nine forces personnel were injured when militants attacked them at Nowhatta in downtown Srinagar.
A police spokesman said that a police man, who was injured in an encounter with militants on 15th of August 2016, succumbed to his injuries today.
“Police constable Rouf Ahmad 2514/S resident of Check-i-Mujgund Parimpora, Srinagar was injured in an encounter with militants at Nowhatta Chowk near Jamia Masjid Srinagar succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS hospital New Delhi today”, police said.
“The deceased police man is survived by handicapped father and aged bed ridden mother. The body of the martyr is being flown in from Delhi to Srinagar”, the spokesman said.
