JAMMU, Sept 15: Maj Gen SS Jakhar, Additional Director General (ADG), NCC J&K, visited the sailing expedition of NCC cadets of J&K at Govind Sagar reservoir of Bhakra Dam.
The expedition is a part of NCC training of Naval Wing cadets. A group of 40 cadets of 1 J&K Naval Unit Srinagar including 22 boys and 18 girls are participating in sailing expedition.
Maj Gen Jakhar, accompanied by Brig SD Mehta reviewed the sailing activity and commended the cadets and staff for their immaculate planning, preparations and enthusiasm displayed in undertaking the expedition.
The team is being guided and navigated by the highly skilled instructors of Indian Navy. During the expedition, the team will be covering an approximate distance of 400 km and will be closely monitored and supported from a safety boat.
The cadets were put through a rigorous training schedule at Mansar Lake in Jammu to take on the challenges of this expedition which was closely supervised by Brig SD Mehta, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ Srinagar and supported by NCC Directorate, J&K.
