JAMMU, Sept 16: Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) organized prize distribution function at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
On the occasion, Suresh Chugh, Chief Wildlife Warden and Chairman, Sports Advisory Board, J&K Forest, was the chief guest, who distributed the prize money to the winners and runner-ups in presence of Satish Gupta, Manager Sports Council, Jaideep Manocha, Senior Vice President, JKBSA, Nikhil Kapahi, Vice President, Vishal Abrol, General Secretary, Sohail Khalid, Treasurer and other members of JKBSA including Ishuk Choudhary, Gurjeev Singh and Lokesh Sharma.
In his speech, Suresh Chugh motivated the players and asked them to participate in sports activities to keep their body mentally and physically fit. He had praises for Sohail Khalid, who had won 24 Gold medals in Billiards for J&K Forest Department.
Earlier, Sohail Khalid smashed Nikhil Kapahi by 3-1 and clinched the Senior Billiards Championship title. Nikhil won the first frame by 100-84 and the game was equalized by Sohail by winning the second frame by 100-54. Sohail maintained the winning pace and won the third and fourth frames by 100-67 and 100-68 to register 3-1 frames win over Nikhil.
During the whole tournament, the marker was Rakesh Sharma.
It is to mention that, Abhishek Pathania emerged winner and Abhi Gupta remained runner-up in Six Red Ball Tournament, Pankaj Kumar and Akhil Gupta clinched winner and runner-up positions respectively in Sub-Junior Snooker Championship, Kunal Jamwal and Vipan Malhi bagged winner and runner-up trophies respectively in Junior Snooker Championship, Aman Choudhary and Furkan Wani bagged winner and runner-up trophies in Junior Billiards Championship, Vidit Gawri and Ishuk Choudhary secured winner and runner-up positions respectively in Senior Snooker Championship and Sohail Khalid emerged winner and Nikhil Kapahi remained runner-up in Senior Billiards Championship.
