JAMMU, Sept 17: Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) and New Star Cricket Club (NSCC) outclassed rivals in their respective matches and advanced to the next stage of the ongoing 1st Coloured KP T-20 Cricket Cup, being played at KC School ground, here today.
In the first league match, OCC registered win over Rajeev-Sameer Cricket Club (RSCC) by 8 wickets.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, RSCC set a target of 109 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. King ji played a splendid inning of 47 runs off 43 balls including one boundary and four sixes, while Sanjay chipped in 21 runs with the help of two fours.
From OCC side, Vicky was the pick of the bowler, who scalped 3 wickets, while Decker took 2 wickets and Billu clinched one wicket.
In the second inning, OCC chased the target in 14.2 overs by losing only 2 wickets. Chander smashed some crispy shots and scored 51 runs off 42 balls including four boundaries and two sixes, while Puneet made 25 runs including one boundary and Vicky scored 15 runs with the help of three boundaries.
From RSCC side, King Ji and Turki clinched one wicket apiece.
Vicky of OCC was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In the second league match, Provin’s all round performance helped New Star Cricket Club (NSCC) to crush Magnum-XI Cricket Club by a huge margin of 67 runs.
Batting first, NSCC made 156 runs by losing 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Provin played a magnificent inning of 53 runs off 43 balls including three balls towards the fence and two balls over the fence, while Vishal Kanth made 41 runs of 21 balls including four boundaries and one six, while Munna chipped in 28 runs.
From Magnum-XI Cricket Club side, Vinod was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 wickets, while Rahul took 2 wickets.
In reply, Magnum-XI Cricket Club side could not chase the target and bundled out at 89 runs for all out in allotted 20 overs. Bharti and Vishal made 14 and 11 runs respectively.
From RSCC side, Amit, Sushil and Vishal scalped 2 wickets each.
Provin was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Mr Verma and Sunny as umpires, while Vijay maintained the scorecard.
