JAMMU, Sept 18: Splendid 58 runs inning by Abhishek Motton helped Bhatia Cricket Academy (BCA) to crush Budding Star and lift the title trophy of the Under-15 Bhatia Cricket League, organized by Bhatia Cricket Academy, Bishnah in collaboration with Cantt Cricket Club, Satwari at Cantt Cricket ground, Satwari, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, BCA set a target of 145 runs by losing all wickets in 25 overs. Abhishek Motton played a magnificent inning of 58 runs including seven boundaries and two sixes, while Anik chipped in 35 runs with the help of 5 boundaries and one six. Kartik also chipped in 10 runs.
From Budding Star side, Abrar proved his bowling mettle and scalped 4 wickets by giving 20 runs in 4 overs, while Agastya also showcased his bowling skills and took 4 wickets by giving 22 runs in 5 overs. Vdhay Pratap clinched 2 wickets.
In the second inning, Budding Star tried its level best to win the match but failed and collapsed at 128 runs by losing all wickets in 24.3 overs. Paras smashed some crispy shots and made 54 runs off 49 balls including 8 boundaries, while Sachin made 17 runs and Aniket scored 11 runs.
From BCA side, Harman was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 wickets by giving 29 runs in 4.3 overs, while Kartik and Arun took 2 wickets each.
Abhishek Motton of BCA was adjudged as Man of the Match.
On the valedictory function, Irfan Hafeez, CEO, Cantonment Board, Satwari was the chief guest, who awarded the winner and runner-up teams in presence of Jatinder Singh, Vice Chairman, Cantonment Board, Satwari, Parshotam Sharma, Surinder from Barun Sports, Sunil Bhatia, MD, Bhatia Cricket Academy, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Vikas, Umesh Gupta, Vijay Dogra and many others.
