Guv, Sports Minister congratulate Wushu medal winners

JAMMU, Sept 19: Rajinder Singh and Surya Bhanu Partap Singh Chib, both who had won medals at International Wushu Championship accompanied by Kuldeep Handoo, Chief Coach of India (Wushu) were received by Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhavan here today.
Handoo briefed the Governor about the status of Wushu in J&K, the standard of the existing training facilities and the high potential of making J&K a front runner in this sport if the sportsmen and women were provided the required support.
Governor congratulated Singh and Chib for the medals won by them in different Wushu Championships and wished them high success at the upcoming Wushu World Cup which is being held in China in November 2016 and, later at the 14th World Wushu Championship 2017 to be held in Russia and in Asian Games 2018.  He also congratulated Handoo for being honoured with the FICCI coach of the Year Award this year.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports Imran Raza Ansari felicitated Rajinder Singh, Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh and Kuldeep Handoo for their outstanding achievements in Wushu game.
While felicitating the athletes, Ansari congratulated the J&K Wushu Association for the outstanding performances in the international arena and assured all support to the Wushu sports.
Secretary Sports Council, Wahid Parra, was also present during the felicitation ceremony.
