JAMMU, Sept 19: Bindu Pathania from Jammu and Kashmir has been awarded FIDE Arbiter (FA) title in the 87th Congress of World Chess Federation held at Baku.
She had cleared the Arbiter’’ exam earlier in New Delhi and achieved other norms in the 5 other events, which she officiated.
She was awarded by the office bearers of All J&K Chess Association including its President Atul Kumar Gupta, Baldev Raj and Taranvir Singh Gujral, Vice Presidents, Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, Press Secretary, Vikas Nanda, Coordinator, Raj Kumar and Arun Manhas for becoming first ever woman Arbiter of the J&K State.
The Association also awarded Anil Kotwal, who is also Fide Arbiter and had already officiated in more than 10 events including 5 nationals and two International events. Kotwal had received his FA title in year 2013.
Both these Arbiters had also officiated in recently held “South Asian Amateur Chess Championship”, which was held at Jammu.
