MENDHAR, Sept 20: The people today held protest in Mendhar town against re-posting of a tainted Tehsil Supply Officer of the CAPD department.
The people including many ration dealers assembled at Shahidi Yadgar Mendhar and held protest against the CAPD authorities for the reposting of Abdul Khaliq as TSO Mendhar. The agitating people alleged that this TSO who was suspended for the pilferage of 296 bags of ration in Mendhar last year was booked by police under case FIR No. 148/ 2015. He has again managed his posting at the same place. From Mendhar he was shifted to Kalakote and he was again suspended there for pilferage of ration. This tainted officer again managed his posting at Mendhar and the public was against him as people suffered for want of ration.
Later, they moved to the office of Tehsildar Mendhar and submitted a memorandum for the CAPD Minister. The people alleged that they will intensify agitation if the order of this TSO was not withdrawn. They held Director CAPD Jammu responsible for the same. SHO Mendhar Anzir Mir when contacted said that case under FIR No. 148/ 2015 was still pending against TSO Abdul Khaliq and challan in the court of law will be filed shortly.
The Minister said that his officers told that nothing adverse was pending against him and he was cleared by the inquiry committee, but assured that he would re-examine the matter.
