IDS Sehora, GWC Gandhi Nagar, GWC Parade, GDC Kathua sail to next stage in Badminton

JAMMU, Sept 20: Players continued to exhibit their talent in the Inter-Collegiate Tournaments in the disciplines of Badminton and Basketball, being organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here today.
In Inter-Collegiate Badminton Tournament (men), being played at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, GCET beat IDS Sehora by 3-2, Law School smashed ASCOMS by 3-1 and GGM Science College crushed GDC Rajouri by 3-1, whereas in women section, IDS Sehora beat GCET by 2-0, GWC Gandhi Nagar outplayed MIET by 2-0, GWC Parade outclassed GDC Udhampur by 2-0 and GDC Kathua beat MBS College by 2-1.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Vikram Jamwal, Rakesh Kumar, Taranpal Singh and Manmohan Sharma.
Meanwhile, semis line-up has been drawn in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament for men, being played at MA Stadium, here.
PG Department defeated GDC Kathua by 46-14, GGM Science College beat GDC Hiranagar by 27-08, SPMR College of Commerce outplayed ASCOMS by 27-06 and Government MAM College got walkover against GDC Paloura.
The matches were officiated by Aman Sharma, Senior Basketball Coach, SAI, Manoj Kumar, Rajesh Bandral, Ranbir Singh, Mousmi Verma, Vaneet Pangotra, Harpreet Singh and Sumit Dogra.
The tournaments were being organized under the supervision of Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
