Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti organizes 28th Sports Athletic Meet

REASI, Sept 20: Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti (BSS), J&K organized its 28th Sports Athletic Meet at General Zorawar Singh Stadium, here.
The programme was inaugurated by Bala Ram, National Handball player and Deputy Commandant 126 Battalion CRPF in presence of Ram Lal Sharma, Senior Vice President, Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti, J&K, Sameer Krishan Saproo, Secretary Sports, BSS J&K, SS Chib DYSSO Reasi, ZPEO Manohar Lal, Om Parkash and senior citizens.
The prize distribution function was held on the same venue in which Ajay Nanda, MoS Finance Labour and Employment was the chief guest. Sameer Krishan Saproo, Secretary Sports, BSS, J&K was the main speaker in which he highlighted the achievements of BSS J&K.
In this athletic meet, 200 athletes from 8 districts of J&K participated in race, jumps and throws along with special programmes of march pass and group song competitions.
Naresh Singh, Principal BVM High School Reasi presented the welcome address.
While speaking, Ajay Nanda said that in Reasi the stadium will be developed with the help of Central and State Governments for which Rs 2 crore grant has been sanctioned and another new stadium for girl students will be constructed in Reasi by J&K Government.
He presented the awards, trophies and overall championship to the winning teams. On the occasion, Kusum Verma, Best Teacher Awardee of J&K was honoured by BSS.
The programme was conducted by Ashok Katal, Senior Lecturer Sports, ZEPOs Manohar LaL and Om Parkash, BSS Sports Officials namely Kuldip Raj, Diler Singh, Virender Kumar, Sanjay Tutoo, Tilak Raj, Shashi Bushan, Rakesh Kotwal, Varun Kumar, Zail Singh and Mulkh Raj under the guidance of Sameer Krishan Saproo, Khel Kud Sanyojak and overall supervision of Dr Swaran Singh Chib, DYSSO Reasi.
In the end, Krishan Dutt Sharma, President School Management Committee presented the vote of thanks.
In under-11 Shishu Varg Boys, Jammu Zone, Doda Zone and Basohli Zone emerged winners, whereas in under-11 Shishu Varg Girls, Jammu Zone, Kishtwar Zone and Udhampur Zone bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-14 Bal Varg Boys, Jammu Zone, Kishtwar Zone and Basohli Zone clinched first, second and third positions respectively, while in under-14 Bal Varg Girls, Jammu Zone, Udhampur Zone and Kishtwar Zone secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-17 Kishore Varg Boys, Jammu Zone and Kishtwar Zone clinched first and second positions respectively, while Udhampur and Reasi shared third position.
In under-17 Kishore Varg Girls, Jammu Zone bagged first position, while the second position was shared by Udhampur and Reasi. The third position was shared by Doda and Ramban.
The overall championship was won by Jammu Sankul comprising of Jammu, Samba and Kathua Districts by getting 217 points. In march past, Kishtwar clinched first position, while the second position was shared by Doda and Ramban. The third position was clinched by Basholi, District Kathua. In Group Song, Jammu and Kishtwar clinched first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Doda and Ramban.
