JAMMU, Sept 20: Inter School District Level Athletic Meet, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports were played at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter School District Level Athletic Meet for boys of all age group commenced here at MA Stadium.
In under-14 category, Vikas Sharma of HS Khuimillin, Muzaffar Iqbal of APS Sunjwan and Lovjeet Singh of APS Kaluchak bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in 600 meters, whereas in under-17 category, Mohammad Muneer of GHSS Jhajjar Kotli, Rohan Singh of GHS Sagoon and Aman Deep Singh of APS Kaluchak clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in 800 meters and in under-19 category, Parvej Ahmed of GHS Nari Bala, Rinku Kumar of GHSS RS Pura and Sahil Singh of GHSS Kah Potha secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in 800 meters. In under-19 category, Ajay Kumar of Ranbir HSS, Vicky Kumar of GHSS Kathar and Joginder Singh of HSS Kathar Manwal clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in 5000 meters.
In under-14 Shotput, Kabir Choudhary of APS Sunjwan and Amit Kumar of MRLD clinched gold and silver medals respectively, whereas in under-17 category, Sujal Gupta of Jammu Sanskriti, Saleem Hussain of GHS Chowadi and Randeep Singh of MHAC Nagbani clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively and in under-19 category, Harsimran Singh of St Peter Karan Bagh, Ajay Sangral of GHSS Gandhi Nagar and Divya Surya of Model Academy bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
KATHUA: Inter School District Level Athletic Meet for under-19 boys and girls got underway here at Sports Stadium.
On the first day of athletic meet, a total of 164 boys from 37 schools of 11 Zones of Kathua participated in which Shivanshu Sharma of HSS Chakra excelled in Javelin Throw, Munish Sharma of Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar in Shotput, Rohit Sharma of HSS Chandwan in Discuss Throw, Darshan Kumar of Kailash Public HSS Khanpur in Long Jump and Nikhil Chopra of HSS Bhaddu in High Jump. Sourav Singh of HSS Bhaddu, Sumit Sambyal of Unique Model HSS Chadwal, Shubam Singh of HSS Marheen, Akash Sharma of HSS Mahra Patti and Parshotam Lal of HSS Jakhbar stood second in above mentioned events respectively.
In track and race events, Raman Deep Singh of Tinny Scholars Kathua emerged champion in 100 meters, Vinod Kumar of HSS Nagri Parole in 200 meters, Manga Ram of HSS Kathua in 400 meters, Lucky Sharma of HSS Keriyan in 800 meters, Lakhvinder Singh of HSS Chakra in 1500 meters, Faroz Choudhary of HSS Bhaddu in 3000 meters and in 5000 meters, Sunny Verma of HSS Amar National HSS Marheen secured first position. Abhishek Sharma of Spring Dales Kathua, Abhishek Sharma of HSS Hiranagar, Mohit Andotra of BPS Bilawar, Dheeraj Sharma of HSS Bhaddu, Rohit Sharma of HSS Mahanpur, Jatinder Singh of HSS Mahanpur and Mohammad Akram of HSS Marheen clinched second position in the above mentioned events respectively.
RAMBAN: District Level Inter-school Athletic Meet under all age groups commenced here at District Police Lines, today.
In under-14 Long Jump, Shabir Hussain of HS Dhandrath, Mudassir Ahmed of HS Pernote and Asif Shah of HS Chamalwas clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, whereas in under-17 category, Manzoor Ahmed of HS Dhalwas, Abid Iqbal of HS Tethar and Kripa Ram of HS Sanasar bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-19 Discuss Throw, Fazan Ahmed of HSS Banihal and Manjit Singh of HSS Ukhral secured gold and silver medals respectively.
In under-17 Shotput, Jasbir Singh of HS Sanasar, Farid Ahmed of HS Maligam and Rahul Anand of HS Gool clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, whereas in under-19 category, Sunil Singh of HSS Ramban, Faizan Ahmed of HSS Banihal and Mohammad Rafiq of HS Dharam bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In under-14 category, Mohammad Wasim of HS Maligam, Arshad Bali of HS Pogal and Mushtaq Ahmed of HS Dhalwas bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in 400 meters.
REASI: Inter- District Volleyball Tournament for girls of all age groups was inaugurated here today in which players from Doda, Udhampur, Samba, Kathua, Jammu and the host district are taking part.
The inaugural match of the tournament was played between Doda and Samba in under-19 category, in which latter emerged winner by 2-0 sets and the score remained 25-17 and 25-19. In another match of the day, Kathua defeated Reasi by 2-0 sets with the score of 25-18, 26-24.
In under-17 category, Samba smashed Jammu by 2-1 sets and the score remained 21-25, 25-15 and 25-18. DODA: Two day Divisional Level Kho-Kho Tournament for under-19 girls concluded at Sports Stadium here today. In the tournament, 77 district level teams comprising 87 students drawn from Jammu division took part.
SAMBA: Inter District Divisional Level Speed Ball Tournament in all age group was held at Maharaja Suchet Singh Stadium, here.
In under-14 Boys Single, Raghunandan of Jammu and Amit Sharma of Reasi stood first and second, whereas in under 14 Boys Doubles, Ajay Singh and Raghav of Jammu secured first position and Sunil Singh and Umar Nazir of Reasi stood runner-up.
In under-14 Boys Solo, Gourav Singh of Kathua and Mohammad Yasir Malik of Reasi bagged first and second positions respectively, whereas in under-19 Boys Relay, Amit, Tanshu Charak, Mehran and Kunal of Reasi bagged first position.
In under-19 Girls Single, Sugandha of Jammu stood first, whereas in under-19 Girls Doubles, Ritika and Manpreet Kour of Jammu clinched first position. In under-19 Girls Solo, Rhea Tikoo of Jammu won first position in under-19 Relay, Komalpreet, Muskaan, Raghuvanshi, Kumari Kajal and Neha Thakur of Jammu bagged first prize.
