AMERICARES India, Army organises medical camp

SRINAGAR, Sept 30: AMERICARES India in collaboration with Army organised a medical camp for the physically challenged people of north Kashmir.
During the camp, 30 wheel chairs and 50 hearing aids were given free of cost to the beneficiaries.
On the occasion, two fully equipped Omni Ambulances were handed over to DC, Bandipore and Primary Health Centre Ashtingoo.
Speaking on the occasion Major General Sarath Chand, expressed gratitude to Dr Puravish Parikh, Dr Swati Jha and their support staff from AMERICARES and requested Dr Parekh to organize such medical camps in future also.
While speaking, General Sarath Chand, General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo) added that provision of medical aid and humanitarian assistance as first respondent has always been the focus of Army particularly in the remote areas.
During the course of last one year, the force by itself has conducted 45 medical camps in North Kashmir where nearly 36600 patients were provided medicines and more than 25 thousand cattle were treated during the veterinary camps, he added.
On the occasion fifty solar lights were also distributed to people from far-flung areas.
During the period from September 25 to 28, AMERICARES India in collaboration with Kilo Force conducted a series of medical camps on first aid training for cardiac arrest, adv life support, head, cold injuries, burns and electrocution for the benefit of locals of Bandipore, Pattan, Gurez, Sopore, Kupwara and Handwara.
