While commending the initiative, the Minister congratulated the academy for encouraging the writing skills of these writers which will further boost their talent for promotion of regional dialects of the State.
The Minister said that these kind of events are instrumental in preservation of our cultural heritage besides encouraging other budding writers to harness their skills in this literary field. He said that this region is blessed with many brilliant writers who need a suitable platform to expose and exhibit their talent to the optimum and the Government is committed to support such literary people.
“It is only through the mind and pen of these writers that our culture is reflected and our history is compiled”, the Minister asserted.
While interacting with the students, the Minister asked them to play their role in preservation and promotion of our culture and heritage. “Our culture is the attribute and the immaterial possession that is inherited from our forefathers and we must preserve it”, he added.
Stressing upon the faculty of the college for overall development of the students, the Minister said that apart from the bookish knowledge the students should also be well aware of their culture, history and heritage.
He said that it has been observed that people have degrees and diploma with them but in social values they are quite at sea, it is because of lack of the knowledge of culture and heritage. So we must inculcate the knowledge of our culture and heritage among the students so that the social values which we have inherited could be passed on to the next generation.
District Development Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Batt, Secretary Cultural Academy Aziz Hajni, SSP Rajeshwar Singh, ADDC, GS Chib besides district officers, prominent writers and poets were present on the occasion.
