School Teachers Association protests against violation of transfer norms

Jammu, Sept 24: Agitated over alleged pick and choose adopted in the recent transfers of Teachers, Master and Lecturers, members of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) today held a strong protest demonstration in the premises of Directorate of School Education Jammu.
The protesting teachers raised slogans against the Educational authorities and demanded modification of the transfer order, which have been made in violation of the Transfer Policy norms.
The protest demonstration was led by Hari Singh, provincial president of JKUSTA, who  strongly condemned arbitrary, norm less, pick and  choose transfers made recently by Directorate of School Education Jammu.
“It is very unfortunate that performance of official, school results, subject specific requirement of schools as well as previous places of postings were not kept in mind while making transfers. Authorities hoodwinked the teaching community by holding fake transfer melas. Only large number of blue eyed boys/kith and kins of ministers and bureaucrats got suitable posting where as dedicated but hapless Masters who were working for last 3 to 5 years in far flung and tedious areas, miles away from their residences have once again been hit by the  orders,” he alleged.
USTA took  strong exception to purported denial of  Director School Education Jammu to give hearing to the deputation of the Association,  which went to her chamber to submit a memorandum on the issues  of teachers.
Others,  who addressed the gathering,  include Rajeev Kumar, Pardeep Singh. Dr  Shashi Paul Singh, Sajad Mirza, Julfkar Ali Maliq, Sonia Jamwal, Rajkumar Angad Singh,, Ashok Kumar, Sirajudin, Shanti Saroop, Roop Lal,   Kishori Lal  and Sher Ali.
