JAMMU, Sept 30: The 146th birth anniversary of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, the founder of Mahajan Sabha and a great social activist, will be celebrated as usual with full enthusiasm and charm by Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha on October 2.
In this connection as usual Hawan, will be performed at Hans Raj Park at Gurudwara Sudner Singh road here.
This was disclosed by president of the Sabha at a press conference here today. Terming Lala Hans Raj Mahajan Sher-e-Duggar, he said that this great personality had worked his entire life for the betterment of mankind irrespective of caste creed and colour.
He said that Lala Hans Raj Mahajan was a great social reformer who was against casteism, child marriage and other social evils and launched a crusade against them.
Terming Lala a thinker ahead of his time, Mr Gupta said with his innovative and progressive ideas he revolutionized the society and laid a foundation of Mahajan Sabha to bring the people of the community on a single platform for the welfare of the community as well as mankind as a whole.
He said on the occasion the dignitaries participating the function will garland the statue of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan as well as L C Gupta another social activist of the community.
The function will be held under the supervision of chief patron of the Sabha Lala Amarnath Ji Gupta and other patrons including Amarchand Gupta, Kuldeep Gupta and A V Gupta.
The other office bearers of the Sabha, including its general secretary Chander Mohan Gupta, its secretaries Pawan Gupta and Vimal Gupta were also present in the press conference.
