JAMMU, Sept 26: A Jawan of CRPF today allegedly died due to cardiac arrest in Channi Rama area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, Head Constable Sham Singh (46) son of Parkash Singh Chib, resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, Force No 911110541 and posted at 79 Battalion CRPF, Amar Singh Club, Srinagar was today shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, after he complained of chest pain at Transit Camp, Channi Rama, where he had come for some official purpose.
“However, he was declared as brought dead by the doctors at GMCH Jammu”, the spokesman said, adding, the body of the deceased has been handed over to CRPF authorities after conducting medico-legal formalities while a case under 174 CrPC have been registered at concerned police station.
