Janak, Mohinder, Ram win 1st place in various categories of Long Jump

POONCH, Sept 30: District Poonch Veteran Athletics Association in collaboration with district unit of Sports Council organized District Veterans Athletics Championship here at Sports Stadium.
32 veteran athletes of the district participated in this championship. The championship was organized under the supervision of Nirdosh Kumar Sharma, Incharge, Manager Sports Stadium, Poonch.
The competitions were organized in various categories for Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, High Jump, Long Jump, Run 100 m, 200 m and 400 m.
RESULTS: In Shot Put under the age group 40-45 years, Ram Parkash stood 1st while Davinder Singh and Kamal Din secured 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. In 50 – 55 age group, Rajinder Singh Tofan got 1st position, Narinder Singh secured 2nd and Mohd Rashid claimed 3rd position. In 60 – 65 age group, KL Sharma got 1st prize whereas Sham Lal and Balbir Singh claimed 2nd and 3rd prizes, respectively.
In Discus Throw, Prem Prakash Luthra, Jatinder Singh and Raj Kumar secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively in 75-80 age group. In 50 – 55 age group, Ravinder Singh got 1st prize, Mohinder Pal Bali claimed 2nd and Narinder Singh had to satisfy with 3rd prize. In 40 – 45 age group, Devinder Singh secured 1st position while Shabir Ahmed and Bansi Lal, got 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
In Long Jump, Janak Singh, Muneer Hussain and Balbir Singh claimed 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively in 60-65 age group. In 50 – 55 age group, Mohinder Pal got 1st prize while Rajinder Singh claimed 2nd and Naresh Chander secured 3rd position. In 45 – 50 age group, Ram Parkash secured 1st place, Ajaya Kumar won 2nd and Mohinder Singh claimed 3rd position.
In High Jump, Muneer Hussain won 1st position, Janak Singh got 2nd and Vipan Kumar secured 3rd position in 60-65 age group. In 75 – 80 age group, Prem Parkash Luthra got 1st position, Balbir Singh claimed 2nd and Raj Kumar secured 3rd position.
In 100 m Run, Janak Singh won 1st prize, Vipan Kumar got 2nd and Balbir Singh claimed 3rd position. In 50 – 55 age group, Narinder Singh claimed 1st position, Mohinder Pal won 2nd and Naresh Chander got 3rd position. In 45 – 50 age group, Ram Parkash, Mohinder Singh and Ajay Kumar, claimed 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
In 200 m Run, Charanjit Singh got 1st position, Makhan Singh claimed 2nd and Naresh Chander won 3rd position in the age group of 50-55. In 400 m Run, Balbir Singh claimed 1st prize, Kuldip Kumar got 2nd and Baldev Raj secured 3rd position in the age group 65-70 while in 55-60 age group, RL Sharma won 1st place, Din Mohd got 2nd and Pardeep Kumar secured 3rd position.
The championship was officiated by Mustaq Ahmed, Pawan Kumar, Ram Parkash, Rajinder Singh, Narinder Singh, Harbhans Singh, Ravinder Singh and Mohinder Pal Bali.
